DSF Annual Sustainability Progress – 2024 Calendar Year Reporting

The DSF has published the annual sustainability progress reporting results for the 2024 calendar year at the DSF Annual Meeting today.  Covering environmental, economic and social sustainability through 11 Criteria and associated indicator metrics, this report provides an aggregate analysis of the sector’s performance. The DSF currently accounts for approximately 29% of global (cow & buffalo) milk production which is equivalent to 52% of the global formal milk market.  New this year, progress for each Criteria is reported with five year trend lines, rather than simply the latest year against the previous year.  The GHG data has also been updated for the global dairy sector, using calculations undertaken by Scotland's Rural College, demonstrating the change over time in both intensity and absolute emissions by the sector.
