Welcome to some new faces on DSF Governors and ADCO

We are delighted to welcome three new ‘leaders’ to support the DSF Governance and Strategic thinking.

Dr Matthew Shaffer, Dairy Australia

Dr Matthew Shaffer has replaced Dr David Nation on the DSF Governing Board representing Oceania Dairy. Dr Shaffer is the CEO of Dairy Australia and grew up on a farm in Western Pennsylvania where his first paid job was milking cows. He attended Penn State (USA) and Cambridge (UK) Universities before joining Hancock Agricultural Investment Group as Director of International Operations.  While working for Hancock, he moved to Australia to open a subsidiary and has been here ever since!

Secondly, to the DSF Advisory Council (ADCO), the DSF’s multi-stakeholder group, who provide vital guidance and a ‘sounding board’ for DSF Governors. We have two new faces to introduce you to.

Geeta Sethi, World Bank

From the World Bank, Geeta Sethi, who is the Advisor and Global Lead for Food Systems. Geeta is the lead architect of the World Bank’s Food System Transformation agenda, a food system that provides the triple bottom line—prosperity, sustainability and healthy people. She also manages the World Bank’s program on Food Loss and Waste Reduction. With more than 20 years of experience working as an economist on fragile, low-, and middle-income countries, her work has focused on issues of rural development, service delivery and intergovernmental fiscal policies around the world.

Anke Ehlers, Aldi South Group

Representing the grocery retail sector, Anke Ehlers, is Managing Director International Sustainability at ALDI SOUTH Group. She is responsible for delivering Aldi’s ambitious Global Sustainability Strategy across Climate & Nature, Livelihoods, Packaging & Waste and Health, working with a global team of more than 180 people. Having joined ALDI SOUTH Group in 2010, Anke has worked in several countries, working and leading teams in Germany, Austria, Bangladesh and Hong Kong. Anke has almost two decades of deep, hands-on experience in sustainability in global businesses. Before joining ALDI, she gained valuable experience working in the German Parliament and the global sustainability department of the BMW Group.

We look forward to working with our new colleagues. Please see our website to find out more about the DSF Governors and the DSF Advisory Group.
