Update on DSF’s Communities of Interest (CI)
The Animal Care CI met earlier this month and had a lively discussion with guest speakers from the UK, Phoebe Russell from the NFU and Abi Reader a Welsh Dairy Farmer. The group is due to meet again in late June and has a program planned through to the end of the year, meeting every 2 - 3 months.
The GHG Emissions CI is meeting on 4 May 19h00 and is looking at behaviour change and barriers to adopting new technologies and techniques on farm. DSF Aggregating Member CNIEL’s Ronan Lasbleiz will discuss the French experience. The CI will explore how the French Dairy Roadmap tackles reducing their impact on climate change and the financial partnerships to encourage farmer participation in GHG reduction activities on farm. This CI has decided to meet every 6+ weeks.
The next DSF Community of Interest will be on Soils and will be the next one to start. If you are a DSF aggregating or implementing member who has prioritised Animal Care, GHG Emissions or Soils, it is not too late to join the Community, please email the DSF Secretariat for more details.
