The DSF as a programme of the GDAA

The DSF as a programme of the GDAA

We have been asked by many hearing of the DSF for the first time, how does it fit in with the GDAA and original Green Paper initiative?

Firstly, the GDAA still remains and the Governors of the GDAA provide the leadership for the DSF.

The DSF is an evolution of the Green Paper, which was a cataloguing of the sector’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In progressing from the single issue focus to a more holistic approach, addressing social, environmental and economic sustainability topics, the DSF clearly demonstrates that the global dairy sector has not been complacent in addressing its sustainability challenges.

In addition, the DSF goes beyond the Green Paper concept of connecting and cataloguing sustainability actions. With the DSF, we aim to quantify the impacts of these actions in order to clearly demonstrate the progression by the sector.
