New DSF case study on reducing GHG emissions
New DSF case study on reducing GHG emissions
A new case study on greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation has been published in the DSF Members Area of the website. The case study, provided by Arla Foods, "Introducing a sustainability incentive model to motivate and reward past and future actions taken on farm to reduce GHG emissions", outlines the development and implementation of the Arla Foods’ FarmAhead™ Incentive model. The model was created to encourage farmers to adopt practices that support Arla Foods’ 2030 emission reduction targets.
The initiative builds upon the earlier introduction of the FarmAhead™ Check tool, which identifies on-farm emission sources and provides tailored mitigation action plans (refer to the DSF Case Study "Arla: Using Big Data to Accelerate Our Cooperative Owners’ Journey Towards Carbon Net Zero," April 2022). Additionally, this work is related to the DSF Case Study "Arla: Connecting Farmers and Customers to Reduce GHG Emissions – The FarmAhead™ Customer Partnership", November 2025.
The DSF has a growing number of case studies, covering a wide number of sustainability topics. These can be download from the Resource Centre in the DSF Members Area of the website. If you require login credentials, please contact the DSF Secretariat.
