Managing Trade-offs between Adaptation and Decarbonization: Lessons from South Asia

Orchestrating synergies and trade-offs between the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been the subject of much study and effort, but meagre evidence exists of it happening in practice.  This fascinating article written by Dipayan Dey, Chair (Research & Planning), South Asian Forum for Environment (SAFE) raises concerns that more rigorous assessment of nature-based solution (NbS) or ecosystem-based adaptations (EbA) is needed to ensure they can provide the intended climate benefits, without trade-offs.
