Launch of GRI Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fishing Sector Standard

Launch of GRI Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fishing Sector Standard

GRI 13: Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fishing Sectors 2022 – the new Sector Standard was launched at the end of June.  The DSF was represented in the multi-stakeholder Working Group that developed this Standard.  It achieves alignment between the reporting requirements of different sustainability initiatives, which in many cases was a key area of discussion during the developmental process.  The Standard balances the need for comprehensive reporting on these impacts with recognition of the essential role of the sectors in feeding a global population that is estimated to be 9.7 billion by 2050.  Many DSF Members will already be applying GRI standards as an integral part of their annual sustainability reporting. It is hoped that in many areas DSF Members will appreciate where alignment and pragmatic reporting requirements have been incorporated into the GRI 13 – Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fishing Sectors 2022 standard.

Information on how the revised Universal Standards work with GRI Sector Standards can be found on the GRI website here and extended FAQs on the Universal Standards can be accessed here.
