#Farmers4FoodSystems

In the run up to the UN Food Systems Summit, you might like to take a look at the communications initiative that the World Farmers’ Organisation, WFO, has conceived to mainstream the farmers’ voice into the Summit processes.

Acknowledging that many of you are already engaged in some way with the UN Food Systems Summit, though for those of you who have not yet connected, The Food Systems Summit presents a unique opportunity to chart the course towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through an inclusive, collaborative, and transparent process for all food systems actors, with people at the centre. At the centre of food production, farmers play an important role in creating jobs and economic development in rural areas, as well as caring for the environment and ecosystems. Farmers choose inputs with consciousness, delivering safe and nutritious food and producing biomass and other renewable products. Farmers help mitigate climate change, keep the soils healthy, contribute to protect and restore biodiversity, minimize waste, and much more.

To promote these messages, WFO has developed and launched a communication campaign under the overall concept of #farmers4foodsystems, which is open to all who, as individuals and/or organizations, think that farmers are indispensable actors in food systems processes.

Find out more about the campaign by visiting www.farmers4foodsystems.org.
