DSF visit to India

DSF visit to India

A few weeks ago, DSF Director Brian Lindsay, travelled to India to meet with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to review the progress of the DSF Stage 1 pilot with Chairman, Dr Meenesh Shah, senior NDDB officials and the leadership teams from both Shreeja Mahila Milk Producers and Jharkhand Milk Federation (JMF).

Discussing progress with DSF Stage 1 members, Shreeja Mahila Milk Producers

These pilots are “testing” the DSF Stage 1 model and are providing insights on how the DSF can effectively and substantially scale the implementation of Stage 1 membership. The time invested was immensely beneficial and the progress being made is an absolute credit to the NDDB, Shreeja and JMF. During meetings a new six-month work program was agreed with each of the pilot organisations. In addition, the DSF will fully support the NDDB’s commitment to conduct a workshop sharing the outcomes of these pilots with all cooperatives across India, providing the opportunity for dairy organisations to initiate or enhance their sustainability program and provide valuable input to the sector’s global sustainability narrative.

As part of the Stage 1 support resource development, the DSF is working with Environ Energy to develop a series of on-line training modules for materiality analysis and priority identification. The modules, a series of video recordings and support resources, will be available to all DSF Stage 1, Implementing and Aggregating members via the DSF Members Area.

Members who access the training programme can follow it at their own pace. The DSF Stage 1 pilots in India and Zimbabwe are integral to this development, critiquing and providing valuable feedback during the development phase to ensure the result is an impactful resource.
