DSF Annual Sustainability Progress – 2022 Calendar Year Reporting

The DSF Annual Sustainability Progress was published at the DSF Annual meeting.

Some notable highlights from this report are:

  • The DSF represents 30% of total global milk (cow and buffalo) production, which equates to over 50% of the formal milk market.
  • For the first time, Animal Care is the number one priority Criteria for DSF Members, closely followed by GHG Emissions. Rural Economies was the third most prioritised Criteria, reflecting the increasing emphasis on economic sustainability.
  • This is the first year that the DSF started reporting Gender breakdown for farmers, farm employees and processing operations recognizing the role of dairy in providing employment for both women and men.
