Dairy and Socio- Economic Development GASL report published

Evaluating the social impact of dairy was the subject of a recent DSF webinar, when GDP Sector Lead for Dairy Development and DSF ADCO member, Ernesto Reyes, shared the outcomes of a recently completed study. The latest Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock (GASL) report, Dairy and Socio-economic Development; What Evidence Does the Data Hold? that Ernesto discussed has now been published.

The report investigates relationships between dairy sector development and a number of social indicators linked to milk and dairy products from cattle. It analyses the impact the dairy sector has on society for a vast number of countries and clearly demonstrates how dairy sector growth has a direct and positive benefit toward fulfilling the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, most notably the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of no poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education and decent work and economic growth.
