2026 World Milk Day Success – celebrating women farmers

A great example of the global dairy industry working collaboratively to engage consumers of dairy is World Milk Day and the 2026 campaign was no exception. The 2026 World Milk Day reached millions of people globally through its week-long campaign, generating widespread engagement across social media under the hashtags #WorldMilkDay and #EnjoyDairy. The 2026 event was recognised for its focus and its impact on the agricultural community: with its theme: "Celebrating Women Farmers" (aligning with the UN's International Year of the Woman Farmer).

Successes included spotlighting the critical roles women play in farm production, cheesemaking, and veterinary care. There was global participation from organizations and local dairy boards across more than 40 countries celebrating and promoting the nutritional benefits of milk and highlighting sustainable farming practices.
