UN Food Systems Summit 2021

The UN Food Systems Summit 2021 takes place as a virtual event on 23 September and is open to all.  The organisers say that it will serve as a historic opportunity to empower all people to leverage the power of food systems to drive our recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and get us back on track to achieve all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.  The meetings leading up to this event have brought together people from throughout the globe to bring about tangible, positive changes to the world’s food systems.

Behind the scenes the dairy sector has been putting together it’s evidence of why dairy is very much part of a sustainable global food system of the future.  A joint statement issued by Global Dairy Platform (GDP) and the International Dairy Federation (IDF) seeks urge the Summit Secretariat and Heads of State part to recognize the role of dairy in the development of a more resilient, safe, healthy, and equitable global food system in the future.
