Report on the 13th Congreso Panamericano de la Leche

By Brian Lindsay, DSF Development Director

This conference, which was held in the wonderful Mexican city of Queretaro, from September 8-11 was organized by one of our GDAA Governors, FEPALE, in conjunction with their Mexican members, Canilec.

1500 delegates from 25 countries descended into Queretaro for 3 full days of analysis of the opportunities and challenges for the central and southern Americas dairy sector. Growth of the sector was a key theme, with countries who are not yet providing a level of dairy self sufficiency being encouraged to not only grow to fill this gap, but also to look to potential export markets. It was often stated that this region could feed the growing world population.
